Notebook: All Grass Playing Surface at LandShark; No Tweeting Policy at OU

All Grass at LandShark: Ground crews at LandShark Stadium have re-sodded the field and replaced the baseball diamond with a full field of grass in preparation for Saturday's night game. Not only home to the Hurricanes, the multi-sport facility is home to the NFL's Miami Dolphins and MLB's Florida Marlins. The dirt had been a concern of Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, saying the Sooners were looking at different cleats.

UM's Phillips to Play? Miami's second leading tackler, Randy Phillips, is looking more likely to play Saturday after practicing with the team on Wednesday. Phillips, who injured his forearm, left late in the first half against Virginia Tech. Miami coach Randy Shannon said of Phillips: "[This game] means more to him because of situations he was put in a couple of years ago [when] they got a couple of passes on him."

No Tweeting Policy: Bob Stoops said this week at his weekly press conference, he asked his players after practice on Monday if any of them owned a Twitter account. "None raised their hand," Stoops said. Although, that didn't stop Stoops from addressing the issue of tweeting or discussing private team information with others. Unlike, Texas Tech or the NFL, where players tweet too-much info the Sooners have had their problems with leaks the old-fashion way. Stoops said, if anyone wants to discuss team information with others or tweet during halftime they could do it elsewhere.
