Pair of Transfers Apply for Waivers

Saunders, Johnson seek NCAA waivers: OU coach Bob Stoops said incoming transfers Jalen Saunders and Cortez Johnson have applied for waivers to play this season.

Both players left their respective programs after coaching changes.

“There’s nothing to feel good or bad about,” Bob Stoops said when asked if he felt good about their waiver requests. “It’s just a process. You go through the process and we’ll see.”

NCAA rules stipulate that if a player transfers from one Division I school to another, that player must sit out a year.

Stoops declined to say the grounds under which the players are applying for waivers. (The Oklahoman)
