Coach Stoops Addresses Penn State Scandal

Bob Stoops: Children should be protected by adults: During Big 12 media days Monday, Bob Stoops declined to comment on the severity of the NCAA’s penalties on Penn State — massive scholarship limitations, four-year bowl and a $60 million fine.

“My expertise is just in coaching football,” Stoops said. “Administrators, presidents, you trust they understand what needs to happen. The whole situation is just incredibly tragic. That’s the only word I can describe. I don’t know all the facts. I’m not one to judge.

“But in every way possible, children should be protected by adults. That’s all I would say about it.” (The Oklahoman)
