Oklahoma offensive lineman Dylan Dismuke to receive medical hardship: Dylan Dismuke, an offensive lineman who redshirted last season after a standout high school career at Duncan, has been placed on medical hardship, allowing him to keep his scholarship despite what became a career-ending knee injury he suffered last December.
The news about Dismuke was first reported by the Rivals network website SoonerScoop.com, and Dismuke confirmed it during an interview Monday night with The Oklahoman.
Dismuke (6-foot-7, 299 pounds) chose the Sooners over lots of other NCAA Division I scholarship offers during the summer before his senior year at Duncan.
He redshirted as a freshman for the Sooners, and suffered the catastrophic injury during OU’s first practice in preparation for the Insight Bowl. He said the injury occurred during a non-contact drill. (The Oklahoman)
