Oklahoma coaches indicate decision on backup QB could come soon: After sophomore Blake Bell's impressive scrimmage Saturday, coaches faced more questions Tuesday regarding a time frame for a decision in the race to be Landry Jones' backup quarterback.

Bob Stoops quickly dismissed one inquiry about the competition between Bell and junior Drew Allen, but co-offensive coordinator Josh Heupel implied a decision might be coming soon.

“We'll probably make a decision and we'll see how it plays out over the next couple of days here,” Heupel said.

When asked if that meant a decision would be made in two days, Heupel backed up a bit.

“No, I'm just saying the next couple of days, which means a week, two weeks or three weeks,” he said. (The Oklahoman)
