Sooners Support Oklahoma Relief Efforts

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma, its online commerce partner, Team FanShop, and the United Way of Norman are lending assistance to agencies providing relief to Oklahomans in the wake of recent wildfires across the state.

The University of Oklahoma is continuing to implement a collaborative effort in which the net proceeds from Team FanShop will be donated to the United Way of Norman to benefit affected Oklahomans. All monies donated to the United Way of Norman will be distributed to the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

T-shirts featuring "2012 Relief Efforts - Oklahoma Helping Oklahomans" are currently available online at SoonerSports.com, the official website of the OU Athletics Department. The shirt, manufactured by Box Seat Clothing Co., may be purchased for $19.95 (men's) and $21.95 (women's) with a flat-rate $4.99 shipping fee for any quantity ordered.

The University of Oklahoma and United Way of Norman previously partnered for a collective relief effort following a tornado outbreak in 2011, and continued those efforts after severe weather impacted areas throughout the state in April of this year.

The United Way of Norman works directly with agencies such as the American Red Cross and Salvation Army that have been providing round-the-clock assistance to Oklahomans in need. Services provided include opening and operating shelters, case management for those experiencing loss, mobile feeding sites for those working in disaster-affected areas, and more.

Disaster relief efforts are provided free of charge and are entirely supported by financial contributions. The University of Oklahoma and Team FanShop are proud to once again assist in these efforts to aid our fellow Oklahomans.
