NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma women's gymnastics team is ranked No. 4 in the 2013 GymInfo Preseason Coaches Poll released Monday.

The ranking matches the program's highest preseason standing; OU was also ranked No. 4 in the 2012 and 2011 preseason polls.

OU has started the season ranked in the top 10 for eight straight seasons and in the top 25 for 13 consecutive years. The Sooners have been ranked in the top 10 every season under head coach K.J. Kindler.

The defending Big 12 Champion Sooners welcome four ranked teams to the Lloyd Noble Center this upcoming season, with meets against No. 2 UCLA, No. 7 Stanford, No. 19 Arizona and No. 20 Denver. OU will also host an NCAA Regional on Saturday, April 6.

OU will face a total of 11 teams in the top 25 in 2013, beginning with No. 11 Georgia in Athens, Ga., on Jan. 5 in the season opener. Oklahoma also travels to compete at No. 1 Alabama and No. 24 West Virginia.

In OU's two neutral site matchups in 2013, the Sooners will compete against multiple ranked opponents, including No. 8 LSU, No. 9 Oregon State, No. 11 Georgia and No. 17 Washington at the Metroplex Challenge on Jan. 26 in Fort Worth, Texas, and against No. 15 Boise State in the Perfect 10 Challenge in Oklahoma City on Feb. 15.

The Sooners enter the 2013 season after winning their fourth Big 12 title in five years and claiming their third-straight NCAA Regional last season. Despite multiple late-season injuries, OU finished No. 7 in the nation in 2012, narrowly missing its third-straight Super Six berth.
