Dominique Whaley Signs Free Agent Contract with Seattle

Former Ansbach High School running back Dominique Whaley has signed a free-agent contract with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks.

Whaley recently completed an injury-plagued career at the University of Oklahoma and was not selected in the 2013 NFL Draft. But he was included in the annual wave of undrafted players signed in the wake of the draft, including eight other signees by the Seahawks.

Whaley played his freshman and sophomore seasons for Ansbach in 2005 and 2006, also starring in basketball and track and field. He graduated from Oklahoma’s Lawton MacArthur High School, started his collegiate career at Oklahoma NAIA school Langston University and ultimately walked on at OU. He quickly reached the top of the Sooners’ depth chart, emerging as the team’s featured running back in 2011. (Stars and Stripes)
