Oklahoma offensive tackle Lane Johnson has been generating plenty of interest over the past couple of months and is making a visit Thursday to a team that has one high draft pick and might soon add another.
Johnson is in New Jersey to pay a pre-draft visit to the New York Jets, a person informed of the meeting told USA TODAY Sports. The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the team doesn't comment on player visits, confirmed previous reports Johnson has visited the Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints and Jacksonville Jaguars and has worked out for the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
The Jets are an interesting case, because they have D'Brickashaw Ferguson at left tackle and got a good season out of right tackle Austin Howard last year. But the Jets, who hold the ninth overall pick, might soon trade Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which would net them the 13th pick.
Johnson has been slated by some to be gone before the Jets are on the clock at No. 9, but should Johnson fall to No. 9, the Jets, even though they don't seem to need him, could still grab him if they had the 13th selection. (USA Today)
