OU Baseball Ranked in Top 10 in Three Polls

After its first series win against Texas in 15 years, the University of Oklahoma baseball team is ranked in the top 10 in three polls.

The Sooners (27-6, 7-2 Big 12) moved up to eighth in the Collegiate Baseball poll, ninth in the Baseball America rankings and tied for 10th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' poll.

The three top-10 rankings mark the first time since March 21, 2011 that OU is ranked in the top 10 in all three polls. The Sooners are also ranked 12th in the Perfect Game poll. The latest rankings for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association have not been released.

The Collegiate Baseball and USA Today/ESPN polls are voted on by Division I coaches, while the remaining polls are decided on by national media.

The Sooners have been ranked in the top 10 by Baseball America at some point in the season in four of the past five years.

OU, which sits in first place in the Big 12, travels to Waco, Texas, for a three game series with Baylor this weekend. The Sooners return home for a doubleheader with Arkansas-Little Rock on April 16. First pitch at L. Dale Mitchell Park is scheduled for 3 p.m., while the second contest will begin at 6:30. p.m.
