Oklahoma Defensive Tackle Kerrick Huggins Transfers to Junior College

Oklahoma has lost freshman-to-be defensive tackle Kerrick Huggins, whose grades forced him to begin his college football career elsewhere.

Huggins announced via Twitter earlier this summer that he'll play at Trinity Valley this fall.

The Sooners' defensive tackle group last season was senior-dominated, with just redshirt freshman Jordan Phillips joining the regular rotation.

Phillips, now a sophomore, redshirt freshman Jordan Wade and junior Torrea Peterson — rarely used to this point — were OU's only three defensive tackles entering spring practices, forcing Ndulue and junior defensive end Rashod Favors inside to tackle.

Ndulue and Phillips were OU's starting defensive tackles in April's spring game. (More at The Oklahoman)
