Adrian Peterson Visits Children's Hospital

Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota announced on Monday they are coming together with Vikings running back and reigning NFL MVP Adrian Peterson and The All Day Foundation to advocate for the health and well-being of kids throughout the state. The announcement coincides with The All Day Foundation and Children’s forthcoming fundraiser on Sept.10, “The Eat Big, Give Big Texas BBQ – An Evening with Adrian Peterson.”

To celebrate the news, Peterson visited with patients and families at Children’s Minneapolis campus on Monday.

“It is humbling to see the courage, strength and optimism of these kids knowing what they are going through,” said Peterson. “Today was a great reminder of the impact Children’s makes in our community, and I couldn’t be more excited about the work we can do together to support kids’ health.”

Proceeds from this first-ever event will go toward the Midwest Children’s Resource Center, a hospital-based program at Children’s designed to diagnose, treat and advocate for victims of child abuse and neglect, and The All Day Foundation, founded by Peterson in 2008 to raise awareness and funds for programs that inspire hope and build a better future for at-risk kids, with a special focus on girls’ leadership and protection.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Adrian Peterson as shared advocates for the health and well-being of Minnesota’s children,” said Theresa Pesch, president, Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota Foundation. “We welcome him as a member of our extended team and thank him for being a positive and inspiring role model for kids throughout the state.”
