Oklahoma wrestling program has a variety of events on the docket as the 2013-14 year is about to begin.
The annual New Wrestler’s Picnic is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 in the Stadium Club. The cost is $25 per person, and Johnny Carino’s Italian food will be served. The picnic provides an opportunity for attendees to meet the OU wrestlers, coaches, fans, alumni and parents.

The program’s Wrestling Reunion weekend will be held Sept. 6-7. To begin the festivities, OU will hold the Sooner Wrestling Golf Classic at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 at the Westwood Park Golf Course, located at 2400 Westport Drive in Norman.
The four-person scramble, shotgun start format will kick off at 1 p.m., and prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers.
Cost of the tournament is $125 per golfer and includes lunch, green fee, cart, range balls and a gift bag. Following the tournament, dinner will be held at 7 p.m. at the stadium. Cost is $25 per golfer and free for letter winners. For $250, one can sponsor a hole during the event. All proceeds go to the OU Takedown Club.
The alumni weekend continues on Saturday, Sept. 7 with the Varsity O Association Tailgate scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in McCasland Field House. Admission is complimentary for each letter winner and one guest. Each additional guest is $5. Each alumnus will received two complimentary football tickets for the OU vs. West Virginia football game, slated to kick off at 6 p.m. following the tailgate.
A limited block of rooms is being held at the Sooner Legends Inn and Suites on a first come, first serve basis for the alumni weekend. The price is $145 per night with a two-night minimum and can be reserved by calling Sooner Legends at 405-701-8100.
