She worked with special needs kids through the annual Big Event volunteer effort on the OU campus, as a food packer for the homeless at local organization, Feed the Children and at a summer camp in 2013, helping children improve volleyball skills as they grew their relationship with God.
On the court, McLaurin was named a Third Team All-America by AVCA following the 2012 season and an Honorable Mention after 2011. She enters her final season in Norman with 913 kills, ranking fourth most among active players in the Big 12. The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2013 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship in December.
The 30 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.
