Trevor Knight Injured, Blake Bell to Start Against Tulsa

Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight will miss at least one game with a knee injury, head coach Bob Stoops said Monday.

"Trevor does have a bruised knee," Stoops said during the weekly Big 12 teleconference. "He will in all likelihood be out for this week. Blake Bell will start."

Bell, a redshirt junior, replaced Knight during the Sooners' 16-7 win over West Virginia. Bell attempted only one pass and ran twice for 21 yards, as Oklahoma instead relied on a punishing rushing attack and resurgent defense to salt away its conference opener.

Knight was 10 of 20 for 119 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against the Mountaineers, adding 42 rushing yards on seven carries. Knight was apparently injured late in the first half and his responsibilities were scaled back afterwards, as the Oklahoman noted. (NFL)
