Quarterback Trevor Knight to Start Against Kansas State

Freshman Trevor Knight is expected to get the start in place of Blake Bell, a team source confirmed. The Oklahoman, which first reported Knight would start, said Bell is still recovering from a concussion.

Bell was injured early in the second quarter last week against Iowa State after taking a blow to the head on a short run. Knight, who started the first two games of the season before being replaced by Bell, ran for 123 yards and threw for 61 yards to lead the Sooners past the Cyclones 48-10.

Knight, however, won't have a couple of key offensive weapons at his disposal.

Running back Damien Williams and wide receiver Lacoltan Bester have been suspended for the Kansas State game, a team source confirmed. KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City first reported the suspensions. Neither player practiced with the team Tuesday, the source said. (ESPN)
