Ronnell Lewis Signs With Tulsa Defenders

The Oklahoma Defenders are pleased to announce the signing of former University of Oklahoma defensive end Ronnell "The Hammer" Lewis. Ronnell brings a wealth of defensive knowledge and experience to the Defenders, having been drafted in the 4th Round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions.

"I've learned a lot over the last year and a half about giving back being a small town guy. Now having the opportunity to play in Tulsa, I get to be around my family and the community I grew up in. I want to help in the community, mentor youth, and give back in any way that I can," Lewis said.

Golf: OU Men's Team Signs Three for Next Season

University of Oklahoma head men’s golf coach Ryan Hybl announced Wednesday the signing of three golfers to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period for the 2014-15 season. Joining the Sooners next season will be Grant Hirschman, Griffin Pierce and Rylee Reinertson.

Wrestling: Sooners Sign Nine for 2014-15

University of Oklahoma head wrestling coach Mark Cody announced Wednesday the signing of nine wrestlers to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period for the 2014-15 season.

Joining the Sooners next season will be three No. 1 wrestlers in Brooks Climmons, Andrew Dixon and Ryan Millhof. Completing the recruiting class are Trae Blackwell, Joel Dixon,Lance Dixon, Michael Hamilton, Nathan Marek and Jacob Rubio.

Limited Bedlam Wrestling Tickets Are Available

The fourth-ranked University of Oklahoma wrestling team will host the fifth-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. in the McCasland Field House for Bedlam.

The marketing department has announced a “Crimson Out” for Bedlam and is asking all fans to paint McCasland Field House by wearing crimson. Along with the promotion, the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free crimson OU Wrestling T-shirt.

Bedlam Game to Kickoff at 11 A.M.

The Big 12 Conference announced Monday that the Bedlam football game between the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State on Dec. 7 is slated to kick off at 11 a.m. CT at Boone Pickens Stadium. The contest will be broadcast to a national audience by ABC.

Bob Stoops Passes Barry Switzer as All-Time Win Leader

Bob Stoops downplayed the achievement of passing Barry Switzer for the school record in wins with 158 in Saturday's 41-31 win at Kansas State.

“I don't have time to look at it to be honest with you,” Stoops said. “It's something down the road where I'll reflect back.”

But Stoops' brother, defensive coordinator Mike Stoops, said it was important.

Quarterback Trevor Knight to Start Against Kansas State

Freshman Trevor Knight is expected to get the start in place of Blake Bell, a team source confirmed. The Oklahoman, which first reported Knight would start, said Bell is still recovering from a concussion.

Bell was injured early in the second quarter last week against Iowa State after taking a blow to the head on a short run. Knight, who started the first two games of the season before being replaced by Bell, ran for 123 yards and threw for 61 yards to lead the Sooners past the Cyclones 48-10.

Running Back Damien Williams Suspended For Kansas State

Oklahoma senior running back Damien Williams and senior wide receiver Lacoltan Bester aren’t practicing with the team this week and will miss Saturday’s game at Kansas State under suspensions for violating team rules, sources close to the OU program confirmed to The Oklahoman.
