The Sooners lost virtually every major contributor from the 2012 squad's unit, and appeared thin and inexperienced entering 2013.

The morning after Oklahoma's 45-31 Sugar Bowl victory over Alabama, coach Bob Stoops made sure to point out the impact his defensive line had.

“I was angry when I heard we didn't have any D-lineman,” Stoops said. “I said last night to Geneo (Grissom), ‘I'm looking at 12 of you guys right here. You are good-looking guys. How come we don't have anybody?'

“That's a good-looking group. We'll have one of the better-looking ones in the country next year. We went from not having any to having one of the best.” (The Oklahoman)
