ESPN.com's Joe Schad is reporting that current Alabama-Birmingham head
coach and former OU quarterback Garrick McGee will join Petrino's staff
as offensive coordinator. McGee had roles as Petrino's quarterbacks
coach and offensive coordinator during a stint at Arkansas from
2008-2011 before landing the job at UAB. During his time at Arkansas,
McGee coached some of the top offenses in the SEC and was a 2011 Broyles
Award finalist (nation's top assistant coach).
McGee, a Tulsa native, quarterbacked for the Sooners two seasons
(1994-1995), ending his career fourth on OU's career passing list with
2,449 yards. (
