Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said suspended freshman running back Joe Mixon used “poor judgment” in attending a team pep rally last Thursday night.

“Even though it wasn’t a mandatory team event … he shouldn’t have been there,” Stoops said. “I wasn’t there, and most of the coaches weren’t.”

Mixon, a former five-star prospect, was suspended for this season after he was charged with a misdemeanor for punching a female OU student late one night in July near campus. (The Oklahoman) Sports Illustrated is reporting, Oklahoma AD Joe Castiglione said Mixon being at the event was OK, but that the running back shouldn't have been on the floor with the other players.
