Running Back Joe Mixon's Trial Likely Delayed Until December

The misdemeanor trial for Oklahoma freshman running back Joe Mixon is tentatively scheduled to begin Oct. 27 but could be delayed into December.

At a jury selection hearing Monday at the Cleveland County Courthouse, district judge Steven Stice scheduled a Friday pretrial hearing where the date of the trial will become clearer.

Mixon’s attorney, Kevin Finlay, estimated the trail could take between five and seven days. Assistant district attorney Tyler Box estimated it would take three to four days.

Stice said he was concerned not only about the schedules of student-athletes — primarily OU football players — who would be called on as witnesses, but also the class schedules of other OU students who would be called as witnesses in the case. (More at The Oklahoman)
