JUCO CB Commits to Oklahoma

Oklahoma picked up a commitment from junior college cornerback William Johnson on Sunday.

News of Johnson’s commitment was first reported by OUInsider.com.

Johnson, who plays at Monroe Community College in Rochester, N.Y., received a scholarship offer and committed Sunday, a day after he watched the Sooners beat Kansas 44-7 on Owen Field.

The Sooners have struggled in pass coverage this season, so it’s not entirely surprising that they targeted a junior-college defensive back. Senior cornerback Julian Wilson has missed the last two games with a broken thumb, and true freshman Jordan Thomas replaced him in the starting lineup. (The Oklahoman)
