Bob Stoops Not Surprised by Landry Jones' Performance Last Weekend

As Landry Jones became the most prolific Oklahoma quarterback, but also one of the more criticized, Bob Stoops was always his fiercest defender.

So it should come as no surprise that Stoops was very proud of Jones, who came off the bench to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to a victory over the Arizona Cardinals last weekend in the first meaningful regular season action of his NFL career.

“Loved it,” Stoops said. “I texted him after the game. Just really excited for him, proud of him. It doesn't surprise me. … You all saw him whip the ball around, and what a great thrower he was.” (The Oklahoman)
