MBB: Student Season Tickets Sold Out

The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department announced Wednesday that student season tickets are sold out for the 2015-16 Oklahoma men’s basketball season.

“We would like to extend our gratitude to our students for selling out their section for the upcoming men’s basketball season,” OU Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Programs and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione said. “Coach (Lon) Kruger and his staff have assembled an impressive group of student-athletes who possess a tremendous work ethic. With regular season tickets and mini plans still available, I encourage all Sooner fans to support and rally around our team by packing the Lloyd Noble Center this season.”

The Sooners, tabbed No. 8 in the initial USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll, return four starters from last year’s team that advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16, including 2015 Big 12 Player of the Year Buddy Hield.

The squad, which returns 75 percent of its scoring, 69 percent of its rebounding and 83 percent of its assists from a year ago, finished the 2014-15 campaign with a 14-1 home record.

“Last season we enjoyed tremendous support from the student section,” said Kruger, who is beginning his fifth year at OU. “Their enthusiasm really did make a difference in many of our games down the stretch. We look forward to building on to the success of the ‘Boom Squad’ this season, and this is a great start.”

Oklahoma tips off the 2015-16 campaign with a Nov. 6 home exhibition game against Washburn. The Sooners begin the regular season Nov. 17 on the road against Memphis.
