Sooners Announce Pair of Signings

University of Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops announced Monday that high school seniors Austin Kendall and Chanse Sylvie have signed financial aid agreements and will join the Sooners in January as mid-year enrollees.

Kendall, a 6-2, 210-pound quarterback from Waxhaw, N.C., is a consensus 4-star recruit and is consistently rated as a top-10 pro style QB nationally (Rivals No. 4, ESPN No. 7, 247Sports No. 9). Rivals lists Kendall as the No. 161 player in the nation and the eighth-best player in North Carolina. As a junior at Cuthbertson High School, he threw for 4,461 yards and 49 TDs on 310-for-513 passing. After missing time with an injury, Kendall has thrown for 1,693 yards and 15 TDs on 121-for-197 passing so far in 2015. Kendall also received offers from Auburn, Clemson, Miami, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Sylvie, a defensive back, will make his way to Norman from Shreveport, La. Attending Calvary Baptist Academy, the 6-0, 185-pounder is rated as a four-star recruit and the No. 6 safety in the nation by 247Sports. He is a three-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals and Scout. Sylvie chose OU over Arkansas, Baylor, California, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, TCU and Tennessee. He was recently selected to take part in the 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which will be played Jan. 9 at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, Texas.
