Dalton Wood, a former three-star recruit for the 2015 class, is now firmly entrenched as a Sooner. His scholarship gone after everything that happened in the summer and fall, he has to show his coaches and his teammates just how badly he wants it.

So far so good.

“We do have Dalton Wood back on the team and working out,” Stoops said. “He looks good. Hopefully he can take over in some of that fullback/H-back role as we go.”

Stoops was discussing the depth chart of OU going forward and said it might be one short of what it needs to be at fullback behind Dimitri Flowers. Wood filling in the spot would be the plan.

Wood was one of the stars of signing day 2015 as Stoops could not stop talking about how excited he was to have him as part of the team. But after failing to report and then coming to Norman and leaving on the same night, Stoops couldn’t be occupied by those matters. (More at SoonerIllustrated)
