Jordan Evans Ready to Take Leadership Role

There’s little need for Oklahoma’s Jordan Evans to go full speed during spring drills this month.

Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops said as much this week when talking about OU’s only returning starter at linebacker. Still, it’s difficult for the senior to be placed in no-contact status during spring practice.

“I don’t think anybody ever wants to sit out,” said Evans, who is still not quite 100 percent after injuring a shoulder in the Orange Bowl loss to Clemson. “I personally don’t. I definitely would want to get in there and get things going.

“At the same time, I have to be healthy when the summer comes around. I can’t do anything stupid. I have to take care of my body and get back to where I need to be.” (Tulsa World)
