WR Dede Westbrook Says There's Room For Improvement

Dede Westbrook was mad for dropping what could have been touchdown No. 4. Westbrook was ready to go back on the practice field — as a champion golfer would go back to the putting green or the driving range after a sub-par round — to fix little things.

“I can’t miss a pass like that,’’ Westbrook said. “I slowed down. That’s something I can control. It was a lack of focus on my part. I need to catch 10 or 15 passes like that. I have to work more. That’s something I can fix and work on. It was just a lack of effort.’’

Westbrook didn’t start the game because of what OU head coach Bob Stoops called a violation of team policy. He said he broke the rule of not having his jersey tucked in properly.

“There are some issues that I need to resolve and focus on,’’ he said. “I’m not comfortable with where I am or where we are as a team (4-2 overall and 3-0 in the Big 12). I will be comfortable when the season is over with and they are rewarding us with the Big 12 championship.’’ (Tahlequah Daily Press)
