Bob Stoops Considers Oklahoma State A One-Loss Team

In the de facto Big 12 championship game Saturday in Norman, Oklahoma will be playing a second straight week against a one-loss opponent.

At least that's the way Sooners head coach Bob Stoops perceives the matchup with 9-2 Oklahoma State in the annual Bedlam game on Dec. 3.

"In my mind, they've only got one loss if you play by the rules," Stoops said after the Sooners' 56-28 win over West Virginia.

The Cowboys were beaten on Sept. 10 by Central Michigan on a Hail Mary on the game's final play after Oklahoma State was penalized for intentional grounding as time expired.

The flag allowed the Chippewas to get an untimed down and run one play.

It was later determined that the officials made an error in misapplying the rule.

"They review everything else," said Stoops. "They review a first down. They review if that play should have been called or allowed or not." (Tulsa World)
