MBB: Dante Buford Suspended After NCAA Violation

Oklahoma redshirt sophomore forward Dante Buford will miss the Sooners' first three games of the season due to an NCAA rules violation.

Buford sold one of his NCAA Tournament tickets from last season in violation of NCAA rules.

"Dante received an extra benefit for one of his complimentary tickets during last season's NCAA Tournament," Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger said in a release. "As a consequence, the NCAA has ruled him ineligible for the first three games of the season."

Buford, who was expected to miss Sunday's season opener with a groin injury anyway, will also miss the first two games of the Tire Pros Invitational in Orlando, Fla., on Thursday and Friday. (The Oklahoman)
