“The interview went great,” Switzer said Dec. 7. “He plans to run the football. He wants to make the wishbone great again!”
It turns out that Switzer made up more than a cabinet position; he made up the entire meeting.
For a story about what it takes to get a meeting with Trump these days, Switzer told Politico’s Josh Dawsey this week that he had no interview scheduled with Trump on Dec. 7. Switzer said he walked into Trump Tower while shopping with his wife and daughter, went upstairs, bought a coffee at Starbucks and then left, but not before having a little fun with reporters.

“I told the reporters I had a great visit and that we were going to make the wishbone great again,” Switzer told Dawsey. “I told them I was going to be Secretary of Offense and that Trump knew how to run the ball down the field. Then I went back to my hotel and laughed my [butt] off. It went everywhere. Everyone believed it. I had all these calls, but I was just jerking people around.” (Washington Post)
