Former Oklahoma quarterback Josh Heupel is the leading candidate to replace fired Missouri head coach Barry Odom, according to multiple reports.

Since being named UCF Knights head coach in December 2017, Heupel has guided the school to a 19-4 record. He previously served as Missouri’s offensive coordinator (2016-17). Heupel has been mentioned as a candidate for Florida State's coaching vacancy.

Under Heupel, the Knights have been ranked in the top five nationally in total offense in both seasons.

Heupel served as Oklahoma’s quarterback coach (2006-10) and had play-calling duties while serving as co-offensive coordinator (2011-14).

After his tenure at Oklahoma, he served as offensive coordinator and assistant head coach at Utah State.

Huepel, 41-years-old, is signed through 2023 and reportedly makes $1.7M annually.
