Quarterback Landry Jones made his first professional football start in 777 days on Sunday, giving Bob Stoops, Dallas Renegades their franchise win.

“It felt great,” said Jones, following the 25-18 victory over Los Angeles Wildcats.

Although Jones admittedly struggled at times throwing two interceptions, he became the first quarterback in XFL history to the ow over 300 yards. He finished 28-of-40, 305 yards, one touchdown.

“We are a gritty team, and I played about as bad as you can play, and I’m very, very thankful for the win and thank God that I got out of here healthy,” said Jones, via Pro Football Talk.

Jones, teammates celebrated the win by shotgunning beers.

Stoops awarded the ‘old man,’ Jones with the game ball, following the game – helping Stoops avoid his first career 0-2 start.

Former Oklahoma WR Jeff Badet caught six passes on nine targets for 53 yards.

Jones, Renegades travel to play at Seattle Dragons, Saturday at 4 pm/CT on FOX.
