The XFL announced job layoffs for nearly all of its employees, the league's Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Pollack announced in a 10-minute conference call on Friday, ESPN’s Kevin Seifert and Field Yates reports.
“It's done,” a former employee told ESPN, concerning the league’s future.

"Given the uncertainty of the current environment, the XFL has suspended operations and is evaluating next steps, ” World Wrestling Entertainment, the parent company of Alpha Entertainment, said in a statement on Friday.
Vince McMahon, CEO of Alpha Entertainment, hired Oliver Luck as league commissioner.
Luck, former Athletic Director of West Virginia University, was able to lure Stoops back to the sidelines, after his sudden retirement in 2017 to coach XFL's Dallas Renegades.
Stoops drafted Jones as his starting quarterback, leading the Renegades to 2-1 record, throwing 784 yards, five touchdowns.
The company said only a few executives would remain.
