Pitcher (LHP) · St. Louis Cardinals · MiLB · active · OU 2025
Strikeout lefty from Rockwall who stepped straight into OU's rotation
Cade Crossland was born in Rowlett, Texas, and pitched at Rockwall High School, where he was a second-team all-state pick as a senior. He then went to Weatherford College, going 9–2 in 14 appearances in 2024 and sharing his conference's Pitcher of the Year award.
Crossland transferred to Oklahoma for 2025 and joined the weekend rotation when SEC play began. He made 13 starts in 16 appearances and struck out 84 batters in 68.1 innings. His 11.06 strikeouts per nine innings ranked 13th in the SEC. He fanned a career-high 10 in a win over No. 3 Texas, and in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional he threw seven innings against Nebraska without allowing an earned run, striking out nine. Scouts noted a fastball that topped out at 98 mph and a standout changeup.
The St. Louis Cardinals drafted him in the fourth round (120th overall) in 2025. In 2026 he started at Single-A Palm Beach, striking out 109 in 72 innings, before a promotion to High-A Peoria, where he posted a 1.42 ERA in five starts.
As of October 8, 2026, Crossland is a left-handed pitcher in the Cardinals organization.
