Kur Kuath

Shot-blocking center who became a Spanish league star
Kur Kuath was born in Khartoum, Sudan. His family later moved to Egypt and then to the United States as refugees, settling in Utah, where he started playing basketball at Kearns High School.
He began college at Salt Lake Community College, then joined Oklahoma, where he played 63 games over three seasons (2018–2021) as a rim-protecting backup center, averaging 3.9 points. He spent one more college season at Marquette in 2021–22, averaging 5.6 points.
Kuath's pro career has taken off in Europe. After starting with Lavrio in Greece and Ourense in Spain, he joined Força Lleida in 2023 and helped the club win promotion to the top-tier Liga ACB, earning MVP of the June 2024 LEB Oro Final Four in Madrid. He then played for the Hamburg Towers in Germany and the EuroCup, and for CB Gran Canaria in 2025–26, where he was the ACB's Round 20 MVP after a 22-point, 9-rebound game.
Kuath also plays for South Sudan's national team, including at AfroBasket 2025. On August 3, 2026, he returned to Força Lleida on a one-season deal. As of October 8, 2026, he is Lleida's center.
