Billy Bowman Jr.

Safety · Atlanta Falcons · active · OU 2021-2024

Denton ballhawk turned Falcons safety

Billy Bowman Jr. starred at Billy Ryan High School in Denton, Texas, as a two-way player. As a senior receiver he caught 86 passes for 1,207 yards and 15 touchdowns, and he played in the 2021 Under Armour All-America Game. He first committed to Texas before switching to Oklahoma.

Bowman made an immediate impact in Norman, starting seven of 11 games as a true freshman in 2021. As a sophomore in 2022 he started nine games and recorded 60 tackles with three interceptions. In 2023 he returned as a starter and earned first-team All-Big 12 honors, and he played four seasons for the Sooners (2021–2024).

The Atlanta Falcons selected him in the fourth round (118th overall) of the 2025 NFL draft. As of October 8, 2026, he is an active safety on the Falcons roster and already has an NFL interception to his name.

Bowman brings the instincts of a former high school receiver to the back end of a defense, which is exactly what made him such a playmaker for the crimson and cream.
