Teenage starter on a title-game team, then a Sooner captain
Damonic Williams grew up in Torrance, California. Rated a three-star recruit, he skipped his senior season of high school to enroll early at TCU.
What followed was remarkable. As a true freshman in 2022, Williams started all 15 games at defensive tackle for a TCU team that reached the national championship game, recording 27 tackles and 1.5 sacks and earning freshman All-American honors. He started all 12 games again in 2023, adding three sacks and honorable mention All-Big 12 honors.
In May 2024 he transferred to Oklahoma, choosing the Sooners over Texas, LSU and Missouri. He started 12 of 13 games in 2024 as Oklahoma's most-used interior defensive lineman. After weighing the NFL draft, he returned for 2025 and was named one of Oklahoma's seven permanent team captains, helping the Sooners go 10–3 and reach the College Football Playoff.
Williams signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent on April 28, 2026. He was waived at final cuts and re-signed to the practice squad. As of October 8, 2026, he is on the Cardinals' practice squad.
