Allen Patrick

2008 · Round 7 · Pick 240 · RB · Baltimore Ravens

Allen Patrick was born in Conway, South Carolina, and played running back, defensive back and kick returner at Conway High School. He played safety at Independence Community College in Kansas before transferring to Oklahoma and moving to running back. He was thrust into the starting lineup in 2006 when Adrian Peterson broke his collarbone, and he ran for 761 yards that season. In 2007 he ran for 1,009 yards and eight touchdowns, finishing his OU career with 1,906 yards and 14 touchdowns. Baltimore drafted him in the seventh round, 240th overall, in 2008. He spent time with six NFL teams through 2010, mostly on practice squads. Wikipedia notes that he was arrested in July 2023 on charges including felony kidnapping; it does not report the outcome. The Oklahoman wrote on November 23, 2007: "Mya Elise Patrick came into the world while her father galloped into Bedlam lore." The Oklahoman wrote on December 2, 2006: "Patrick decided to go back to Conway, return to high school and play another season."
