Blake Bell
2015 · Round 4 · Pick 117 · TE · San Francisco 49ers
Blake Bell is from Wichita, Kansas. He was a quarterback at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School, throwing for 32 touchdowns as a senior, and the Detroit Tigers drafted him in the 43rd round of the 2010 MLB draft. At Oklahoma he became the "Belldozer," a short-yardage package quarterback behind Landry Jones. He ran for 13 touchdowns in 2011, was MVP of that season's Insight Bowl, and added 11 more rushing touchdowns in 2012. He started eight games at quarterback in 2013, then moved to tight end for his senior season. San Francisco drafted him in the fourth round, 117th overall, in 2015. He later played for Minnesota, Jacksonville, Kansas City (two stints) and Dallas, and he won three Super Bowls with the Chiefs (LIV, LVII, LVIII). His NFL totals are 65 catches for 667 yards. He is retired. Pro Football Reference has a player page for him (linked below), but its stats weren't pulled for this bio. The Oklahoman wrote on January 10, 2010: "His dad, Mark Bell, was a fourth-round NFL draft pick of Seattle in 1979 and played defensive end for six seasons with the Seahawks."
