Corey Nelson

2014 · Round 7 · Pick 242 · LB · Denver Broncos

Corey Nelson was born in Dallas and attended Skyline High School. He played linebacker at Oklahoma, and Denver drafted him in the seventh round, 242nd overall, in 2014. He played all 16 games in each of his first three seasons and won Super Bowl 50, making a tackle in the 24-10 win over Carolina. In 2016 he made five starts and a career-high 67 tackles. A torn biceps ended his 2017 season, and after brief stops with Philadelphia, Atlanta and Tampa Bay, he returned to Denver in 2019, when another torn biceps ended his season. His career totals are 116 tackles and one sack, and he is retired. Note: his Wikipedia article doesn't cover his OU career, so this bio is short. Pro Football Reference has a player page for him (linked below), but its stats weren't pulled for this bio.
