Dede Westbrook
2017 · Round 4 · Pick 110 · WR · Jacksonville Jaguars
Dede Westbrook is from Cameron, Texas. At C. H. Yoe High School he caught 116 passes for 25 touchdowns and also starred in basketball and track. A ruptured intestine early in his senior year sent him to the hospital for over a month, and many recruiters walked away. He went the junior-college route at Blinn College, where he had 1,471 receiving yards, then transferred to Oklahoma. He was Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 2015. In 2016 he won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top receiver and was a unanimous All-American and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. That season he set OU's single-game record with 232 yards against Texas, breaking Ryan Broyles' mark. Jacksonville drafted him in the fourth round, 110th overall, in 2017. He played for the Jaguars through 2020, then Minnesota, and spent time with Green Bay in 2022. His NFL totals are 170 catches, 1,788 yards and 10 total touchdowns. He is retired. The Oklahoman (Web Edition) wrote on October 11, 2016: "Westbrook, a native of Cameron, Texas, had 10 catches, the most ever by an OU receiver against Texas, and a school-record 232 receiving yards."
