Devante Bond
2016 · Round 6 · Pick 183 · LB · Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Devante Bond was born in Sacramento, California, and attended Foothill High School. He played linebacker at Oklahoma, and Tampa Bay drafted him in the sixth round, 183rd overall, in 2016. A hamstring injury put him on injured reserve as a rookie, and he made his NFL debut in 2017. He was suspended four games in 2019 for violating the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy. He later played for the Chicago Bears (2019–2020) and spent time with the Dallas Cowboys before a 2022 knee injury. The Cowboys waived him with a failed-physical designation in April 2023. He made 39 career tackles and is retired. Note: his Wikipedia article doesn't cover his OU career, so this bio is short. Pro Football Reference has a player page for him (linked below), but its stats weren't pulled for this bio. The Oklahoman (Web Edition) wrote on February 4, 2014: "When Devante Bond showed up for 2010 preseason drills at Foothill High School, it didn't take long before football coach Allen Berg recognized his potential."
