Glen Condren
1964 · Round 19 · Pick 147 · T · New York Jets (AFL)
Glen Condren was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He played on Oklahoma's line, and in 1964 the NFL's New York Giants (11th round) and the AFL's New York Jets (19th round) both drafted him. The Giants took him as a "future" pick for 1965. He signed with the Giants and played three seasons there despite a knee injury as a rookie. After a stint in the Continental Football League he joined Atlanta and started for the Falcons in 1970 and 1971. He played 79 NFL games with 59 starts. Note: OU's list misspells the team as "Gaints"; the team is the New York Giants. Pro Football Reference (PFR) lists him as Glen Paige Condren: born June 10, 1942 in Fort Smith, AR; high school Muldrow (OK); 6-4, 251 lb; position DT-DE. PFR shows him with NYG 1965-67, ATL 1969-72 (79 games, 62 starts, 27 Approximate Value). PFR stat line: 7 yrs: 12.5 sacks, 2 FR, 0 Int. PFR shows no Pro Bowl or All-Pro honors. PFR also notes: header wAV 24. The Daily Oklahoman (March 13, 1963, NewsBank page 35) wrote: "Glenn Condren, a big sophomore who didn't play in 1961, also shot to the front."
