Juaquin Iglesias
2009 · Round 3 · Pick 99 · WR · Chicago Bears
Juaquin Iglesias (pronounced "Hwah-KEEN") was born in Killeen, Texas. At Killeen High School he caught 42 passes for 886 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior and also ran track and played basketball. As an Oklahoma freshman in 2005, he caught the 21-yard game-winning touchdown pass from Rhett Bomar in a double-overtime win over Baylor. In the Fiesta Bowl against Boise State played in January 2007, he had a career-high 129 receiving yards and caught the two-point conversion that tied the game with 1:26 left. He was second-team All-Big 12 in 2008. Chicago drafted him in the third round, 99th overall, in 2009, but he was active for only one game as a rookie. He later spent time with Minnesota and Houston, then played for the CFL's Toronto Argonauts in 2013, catching three passes for 65 yards. He is retired. The Oklahoman wrote on January 6, 2009: "Iglesias, who is half black and half Hispanic, became a solid high school player who was headed to Texas-El Paso until OU came calling late."
