Mark Hutson
1988 · Round 3 · Pick 67 · G · Dallas Cowboys
Mark Hutson was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and was an all-state tackle at Fort Smith Northside High School. He started at left tackle as a true freshman at Oklahoma, only the seventh true freshman to letter on OU's offensive line. In 1985 he moved to left guard for the national title run. In 1987 he was a unanimous All-American on a line that helped OU lead the nation at 499.7 rushing yards per game. He was a three-time first-team All-Big Eight pick, and in the Orange Bowl played in January 1988 he scored on a 29-yard "fumblerooski." Dallas drafted him in the third round, 67th overall, in 1988, but an injury ended his career before he played a regular-season game. He became a coach and served as interim head coach at Eastern Illinois (2006) and Tulane (2011). The Oklahoman wrote on November 25, 1987: "Also starting on the first team at down linemen are Oklahomans Greg Johnson, 6-4, 300, Mark Hutson, 6-4, 280, and Anthony Phillips, 6-3, 280."
