Mike Reilly
1982 · Round 8 · Pick 207 · LB · Los Angeles Rams
Mike Reilly was born in Miami and played at Christopher Columbus High School. He played linebacker at Oklahoma, and the Los Angeles Rams drafted him in the eighth round, 207th overall, in 1982. During training camp that year he was in a car accident that killed a 17-year-old boy. He served a one-year jail sentence for drunken driving and felony vehicular manslaughter. Pro Football Reference (PFR) lists him as Michael Dennis Reilly: born February 14, 1959 in Miami, FL; high school Christopher Columbus (FL); 6-4, 217 lb; position LB. PFR shows him with RAM 1982 (9 games, 2 starts, 2 Approximate Value). PFR stat line: only G/GS/AV table shown. PFR shows no Pro Bowl or All-Pro honors. Note: public sources on him are thin, so this bio is short. A November 11, 1981 Oklahoman item calls him "recently-dismissed-from the squad linebacker Mike Reilly," and a November 7, 1982 Oklahoman article says the OU football team "let go of Mike Reilly a year ago." The Oklahoman wrote on December 23, 1981: "The Carson, Calif., product rose unexpectedly to the top when senior Mike Reilly failed to adjust to a switch from linebacker to defensive end."
