Phil Loadholt
2009 · Round 2 · Pick 54 · OT · Minnesota Vikings
Phil Loadholt was born in Honolulu and grew up in Fountain, Colorado. At Fountain-Fort Carson High School he was a two-time all-state two-way lineman and the Colorado Springs Area Player of the Year. He also won a state discus title and helped lead the basketball team to the state final. He committed to Colorado but didn't qualify academically, so he went to Garden City Community College, where he was a two-time junior college All-American. He picked Oklahoma over LSU and started all 14 games at left tackle in 2007. In 2008 he was first-team All-Big 12 on a line that allowed just 11 sacks. Minnesota drafted him in the second round, 54th overall, in 2009, and he made the PFWA All-Rookie Team. He started all 89 games he played for the Vikings before retiring in 2015. He later moved into coaching, and his Wikipedia infobox lists him as Mississippi State's offensive line coach. The Oklahoma Daily wrote on December 7, 2023: "Loadholt was also an offensive lineman for the Sooners in 2007 and 2008, protecting Heisman-winning quarterback Sam Bradford and helping OU to a BCS Championship berth in 2008."
