Reggie Kinlaw
1979 · Round 12 · Pick 320 · DT · Oakland Raiders
Reggie Kinlaw was born in Miami and graduated from Miami Springs Senior High School. At Oklahoma he was a first-team All-American and first-team All-Big Eight in 1977 and 1978, and he was on the 1975 national title team. Oakland drafted him with the 320th pick, in the final round of the 1979 draft. He became the Raiders' nose tackle and started on the teams that won Super Bowls XV and XVIII, and he finished his career with Seattle (1985–1986). Raiders cornerback Lester Hayes called him "the REAL hero of our defense" because his quickness drew double teams. He later coached the defensive line at St. Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge, California. Pro Football Reference has a player page for him (linked below), but its stats weren't pulled for this bio. The Daily Oklahoman wrote on October 9, 1979 (NewsBank page 13): "Linebacker Ted Hendricks scored a touchdown on a 23-yard interception return and rookie Reggie Kinlaw sacked Miami quarterback Bob Griese four times Monday night as the Raiders won their eighth consecutive Monday night game by beating the Dolphins, 13-3."
