Two sources agree, so this bio uses the Cowboys. SoonerStats lists him on OU's roster for 1965 SO LH, 1966 JR HB, 1967 SR TB. His listed size in 1967 was 6-0, 195 lb. SoonerStats gives his full name as Ron Eugene Shotts. It gives his hometown as Weatherford, OK and his high school as Weatherford. It lists his birth as February 11, 1946. The Daily Oklahoman wrote on February 1, 1968 (NewsBank page 25): "Kalsu went in the eighth round to Buffalo of the American Football League, while Shotts was picked in the 11th round by Dallas of the NFL."
